Weekly Announcements

Midwest Food Bank received several large vats of laundry detergent, so they are in need of the large detergent bottles. If you would please bring your empty bottles to the church, we will see that they are delivered to the Food Bank. There will be a box in the parish hall for them. Thanks so much.

The Evangelism Board is putting together a ‚ÄúThank You‚Ä̬†basket for our¬†fire and police¬†departments. If you would like to donate to the¬†basket, please bring¬†individually wrapped items to the church by Wednesday, November¬†9th.¬† Suggested items are, granola¬†bars,¬†bags of nuts or seeds, beef¬†jerky, protein bars, or trail mix.

Christmas Poinsettias: Now is the time to order your Christmas Poinsettias, a sign-up sheet is in the fellowship hall on the bulletin board next to the kitchen. Poinsettias are $16.00. Please turn your order in by November 15th. Make checks payable to St. Paul Ladies Society.

Operation Christmas Child provides the opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world.   The list of suggested items to pack in the box is posted in the parish hall.  Please indicate if the box is for a boy or girl and the age group (2-4, 5-9 or 10-14).  A donation of $10 will cover the shipping.  If you want to fill a shoebox this year, please leave it on the table at the back of the church and it will be taken for you to the local packing center in Normal.  Packed shoeboxes need to be at the church by Wednesday, November 16th.

Altar Guild:  We would like to have more ladies on our Altar Guild here at St. Paul. If you are interested in serving on Altar Guild, please let Ruth Colclasure know. MARK YOUR Calendars!!  There will be a short Altar Guild Meeting on Sunday, November 20, 2022, right after the 9:00 a.m. church service in the back of the church for all current Altar Guild members and those that are interested in serving on Altar Guild.  We will be setting up the Altar Guild schedule for next year.

Lexington Council of Churches: The Lexington Council of Churches is looking for volunteers to go caroling. Caroling will take place on December 3rd at Christmas on the Prairie and also caroling to a few shut-ins. If anyone is interested, please let Sharon Gardner or Pastor know. 

Advent Series: Our Advent series this year will be ‚ÄúStories of Faith, Hope, and Love‚ÄĚ in which we will share with one another our stories of faith, hope, and love as we await the coming of Christ. Please share your stories with Pastor at¬†pastor@stpaul-lex.org, so that the stories of our church can be shared among us in the coming season. Please note, these stories may also be shared on-line, either on our Facebook page or our website. If you do NOT want your story shared on-line, please let Pastor know when you send it to him.¬†

Nursery: More volunteers are needed for the nursery. Any number is appreciated!
