Million Meal Pack is returning to ISU! On September 26, State Farm® is partnering with U.S. Hunger to help combat food insecurity. Thousands of volunteers will come together to pack one million meals, which will be distributed in McLean County and across Illinois. We’d like to personally invite you to join us for another high-energy, rewarding volunteer opportunity that truly makes a difference for people facing food insecurity. Farewell Meal for Pastor Ronchetto and Family: Please join us for a farewell meal on Sunday, October 4th at 4:00 pm at St. Paul, Lexington, as we celebrate Pastor Ronchetto and wish him well in his next Call to Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, Illinois. The Preschool children will sing at the worship service on Sunday, October 4th. We would once again like to welcome them with a hot breakfast. Christmas in Appalachia: As Servants of Our Lord volunteers are making final preparations for this year’s distribution to children served by 20 of our 30 food pantries in Eastern Kentucky, we have identified the following needs. Toys (dolls for younger girls & gifts for elementary age girls); Coats for boys (12 mo, 3T, 4T & 5T); Teen boy gifts (personal grooming—including nail kits, after shave, etc.), playing cards, small tool kits, wallets, etc. There is always a need for socks of all sizes, throws, stocking caps & gloves and personal hygiene items. We will need donated items and any contributions for us to shop for you, by November 1. If you are eligible for Thrivent Action Team benefits, we would greatly appreciate consideration of Servants. This $250 donation can help us serve even more of the hundreds of kids in need for a Christmas gift! As an FYI, the distribution will be December 1 to coincide with Midwest Food Bank’s delivery of food. If you have any questions, please ask Peg, Sharon or Diana. Thanks!
